First Friday is once again upon us and this month proves to be a very special evening! We will be opening the new show "The Colors of My Life" featuring new work from Washougal artist Elida Field inside the gallery on First Friday, August 1st from 5 to 9 pm. Elida’s one-woman show will capture the many different colors of her life in mixed media collage. Elida has a wide range of subjects that including horses, figurative, Tuscany and local scenes from SW Washington inspire her. Elida was chosen in 2007 by Ft. Vancouver National Park to capture the park for their ornament that was hung on the White House Tree. She was also chosen this year to do a commemorative ornament marking Washougal’s 100-year celebration. During the month of August we will have the painting that Elida donated to the new SW Washington Breast Care Center. The painting titled "Pink Power" is a tribute to those affected by breast cancer and the public is welcome to come down and add a name to the painting of anyone they know who has been affected by breast cancer. The painting will eventually reside in the new Breast Care Center at Southwest Washington Medical Center.
