FEATURED ART WORK OF THE WEEK: STEVE TERRILL

Art on the Boulevard is proud to announce that we are now representing the work of acclaimed photographer Steve Terrill. Steve has won numerous awards and is widely regarded as the best nature photographer living in the Pacific Northwest. Steve's career began in April 1980 when he was hired by Beautiful America Publishing as one of their staff photographers. His career literally exploded in May when he captured the eruption of Mt. St. Helens on the morning of May 18, 1980. Later that same year, one of Steve's photographs of the eruption was presented to President Jimmy Carter while he was in the northwest to view the destruction caused by Mt. St. Helens. The photograph hung in the White House for quite some time. Steve captures his subjects with 35mm, 2 1/4, 6x17, and 4x5 formats film cameras and has also added digital cameras to his equipment. He has over 60,000 images in his inventory.

This week I am featuring Steve's "Dew Drop #10" (above) as the featured art of the week.

Plein Air Workshop with Mitch Baird

Join award-winning artist Mitch Baird on a local plein air painting experience capturing the beautiful Oregon landscape. The workshop will cover the fundamental principles of painting and composition as well as learning to "see" as an artist. Drawing, value, color and edges will be stressed as well as building a strong design from the elements of nature. On location demonstrations will implement these technical concepts from beginning to end. The workshop will be a 2-day intensive for all skill levels and limited to 10 students to ensure individual attention. The location of the workshop will take place on:
